Remember one thing here guys. If the US falls, empire wise, that also means it's economy fails. And unlike the Roman empire, and the USSR, the US economy is tied too deeply into the European and Asian markets.

If the US falls, Everyone else falls with it. It's the domino effect. Don't believe me? Take a look at the world economy right now, and say otherwise.

Funny thing is, the US gives the most aid of any nation, yet we receive hardly any in our time of need. Shows how much the world cares about dying.

It will be like that sooner or later, it's just a matter of time. If there's ever gonna be an end to wars, persecution (although a 1-state world would probably persecute people), etc. then there has to be a single state. With more than one, there will always be disputes whether it be about land, money, or whatever. We're already heading that way.

The question is just this: How will we get to that single-state world? The most probable answer is another global war.

You should read the Left Behind Series. Very strong parallels with that series and the direction of this conversation.

Religious or not, you cannot deny the strong parallels between the two.

i should probably read those series, but i barely read any books

on a religious point though, my dads a pastors and (well more lately than less) he's been sayin how the worlds gonna end up in a one world government ssoner or later. and an economic crisis is a good way to end up in a one. at which point the antichrist will be the top of the 1 world government

i've read most of the series, and many more like it, beowolf, and i reckon that many religious or half-religious apocolyptic texts actually DO give a pretty nice parallel to the world atm

This topic is still about government spending. So, i've heard Obama's plans will put another 7-8 trillion onto the U.S. debt over 10 years, and Obama himself has promised to halve the deficit by the end of his first term.

That's not enough I think. We need to be paying off this debt, not just halving it's annual growth rate. The interest payments alone are about $415 billion.

obamas trying to dig america out of a hole. but you cant actually 'dig' yourself out of a hole, cause thats digging up. so obama is actually digging deeper!

you need to spend money to make money, Obama is starting on the first half of that. I mean come on how bad can he do compared to Bush

Spending money is right. The highest spending in America's history. Highest deficit in our history. The most debt in our history.

As I said in an earlier post, we need to not just "halve" our annual deficit like Obama says he's going to do in 4 years, we need to get a SURPLUS so we can pay off this debt.

Maybe you guys should look into the stuff thats ear-marked for this money. ALOT of the things that are getting money is actually crap.

Yes, to make money you have to spend money. But, with the dirction in which Obama is going, with injecting 7 to 8 TRILLION dollars is down right stupid. Printing more money means one thing, inflation.

just look at zimbabwe, lets print money! i know! lets print more money so that we will have billionaires too poor to buy bread!
