$410bil bill & Gov. spending in general

This is mainly for Americans, but everyone else is welcome to debate it as well. Right on the heels of the massive ~$787 billion "stimulus" bill, a new ~$410 billion bill is now making its way through Congress. I thought Obama was against spending? Also, why was the $600 billion bill that Bush made a huge deal, and now this ~$1.2 trillion in spending by Obama barely even talked about?

I think it's absurd and this bill should be denied immediately, but it seems the House has a different opinion, since it just passed them. This bill also has OVER 8,500 earmarks (personal projects) in it... that's just insane.

He's sending us to hell.

Yes, we need to spend on the roads and drainage systems etc., but bailing out the SAME companies is NOT change!

Giving money to the states is bullshit too! Here in NC we voted AGAINST building the Bobcats arena and what happened? They built it anyway! A PRIVATE investment with public tax payer's money! This happens everywhere all the time and it's shitty when we have over crowded schools and need to pay our teachers more. I could go on and on on several points, but spending and PRINTING money is like stealing it from our hands!

all i can say is, to get out of an economic crisis ppl have to spend money cause if ppl quit spending money companies dont get any money. When the companies dont get any money anymore they will start to fire employees they cant afford anymore. which leads to more crisis and even less spending which leads to more ppl getting fired and companies dieing.

Spending money is one thing. Printing it and causing mass inflation is another.

There is a reason 48% of the vote is against it...

Zimbabwe's inflation rate is at 2,000,000%.

A newspaper there would cost three $100 billion bills. In other words, it would cost $300 billion. However, there are plans to deflate it so $10 billion now will equal $1 after the massive deflation.

Back on topic... now $646 billion for a health care reform. Is it gonna end soon? Also, he says he has "identified" $2 trillion in possible budget cuts. However, he says the deficit will only be halved by the end of his first term... does that make sense to anyone?

from my sources, the health care plan looks like it will do a lot of damage, hobo peoples would get free health care, wheres that money gonna come from? the tax paya!

Actually, first he said premiums on medicare would be raised, then he said retired people's pharmaceuticals taxes would be raised, and now he's falling to the "Top 5% will pay for it". Strange, they can't pay for everything.

well look at ussr they still have nukes and people but they arent empire my little poor poland was the greates country in europe few ages ago and we still exist,fall doesn't mean total destruction
