Password to clanbases

What do you think about passwords to our clanbases? I think guests and peoples from other clans shouldn't see news in clanbases.

I think no. I think that ppl from different clan bases should see things from other bases. And if someone transfers he/she would know old base password.

Why would u wanna hide ''news'' from other clanbasses? Where 1 clan not 6 diffrent

I think it may be a good idea for the whole GDC to keep guests out of clan bases maybe, anyone could sign up and get all sorts of information about members such as Xfires etc, or maybe don't allow guests access to any clan bases

First of all it will be hard to get new members if guest don't know password, so who will we recruit new members?

Personally i don't agree with this idea

if you guys dont want that other people
should be able to read our topics and stuff

then we just make groups to the boards
what only members will be able to read

Example
a player who have registered here
and is not a member
so only boards he will see is Entertainment, General Talk
and Sign shop (for example)

and we members see all the boards.

that is the easiest way to hide boards for guests

Exactly. All GDC Members will know password to clanbase. Non GDC players shouldn't see it I think.

@Hariss. When you recruit somebody you should tell him password.
@Quality. It's good idea. Maybe better than password.

Passwords will hardly work. Go look at Gix. We've had a password on the board for ages, but it always leaked out.

Also, who will keep the usergroup updated?

Nothing isn't easy. Changes need work...
Maybe Leaders? They know who is member or not.

Maybe you could make a usergroup for all members, then you wouldnt have to maintain a list, when someone is recruited and confirmed as a member, they would be upgraded from guest to member and they can see clan bases, no passwords needed, just members + can see bases

@Rubber: those who will keep the usergroups updated will do Recruiter +
everytime when that usergroup get a new recruit then they add him into it
it's not a hard job.

But it would still be bad idea. I dont see reason why guests wouldn't get to see our clanbases.

hell no, usergroups sucked in G!X, they will suck here.

and quality, the supremes aint gonna allowed recruiters to edit usergroups for something like this

guests should be able to see our bases, we dont have to make a completely new board just to see what they say when they can already do it in the existing boards, which is also a lot easier to do.

the other day we have a guy in G!X post in the NQ board about some disrespect goin on in NQ. now if he couldnt post there, where would he go? AA wont work cause we dont want every single case of disrespect goin to HAC, when if its given to the actual base, it can still be dealt with. AA should be for what it is. AA doesnt need to be used for every single case of disrespect from guests.

and besides, what about inactive members

mm no need for this. We are using our groups for that long allready, did we ever had problems? Its not that we post secrets in our boards. When we have to talk about something important its in ownersboard or HAC board or somewhere else where guest can come.
